Camp Tawonga is a co-ed residential camp located just outside Yosemite National Park on the beautiful Tuolumne River. Our mission of self-esteem, community, appreciation for nature, and fostering a positive Jewish identity is woven through all our programs. We are committed to a group-centered camping philosophy, giving counselors freedom to focus on the minute-to-minute and day-to-day experiences of each camper and of their bunk as a whole, while program specialists use their skills to lead a wide array of activities. In addition, each bunk backpacks in Yosemite National Park or the surrounding Stanislaus National Forest and spends a day on the Challenge Course, a core program that underscores this group-centered approach.
